Chef Jay Richardson

Chef Richardson is a high school culinary arts instructor in the Metro Atlanta area. He brings almost 20 years of hospitality industry experience to the classrooms, focusing on food production and hospitality management.

A native of St. Kitts, West Indies, he enjoys exploring various diasporic cuisines and their history with his family. He also enjoys cigars in his leisure time .

In his experience in the hospitality world, Richardson noted the need for diversity and inclusion in upper level management, to mirror the diversity in entry level positions. This fueled his transition from food and beverage management to hospitality education, hoping to equip young students of color with the skills and knowledge to ascend past entry level positions.

An avid consumer of modern media, Richardson is also concerned with BIPOC representation in the media, and created this blog to promote diverse brands in hospitality.
